Chocolope: A Chocolate Lover’s Dream
Chocolope seeds are as easy to grow as they are delicious. The chocolate notes that you smell and taste with this strain are due to its Chocolate Thai genetics. With a high THC content and with it being Sativa dominant this strain was built to give you an energized buzz that should last all day. Many cannabis users say this weed gives you a buzz that is better than a strong cup of coffee. If it is your first time growing and you want to see a higher yield with less work, this is the perfect strain for you. The plants grow tall and beautiful regardless of where you grow them. Just follow our grow tips to ensure you have a successful grow and harvest.
Growing Tips for Our Chocolope Seeds
Chocolope seeds are fairly easy to grow. The taller-than-average plants with super-high yields are the perfect endeavor for virgin growers. You can expect plants that reach three feet or taller indoors and over four feet tall when grown outdoors. The climate-friendly strain needs lots of fresh air, whether it be man-made or utilizing nature’s breeze and winds to meet its full potential. Make sure you have plenty of room because this plant is both tall and full. You can train this plant to grow more vertically than horizontally, but either way, with ideal growing conditions, you should have success.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Growing Chocolope plants indoors is similar to growing outdoors. Chocolope seeds plants don’t need nearly as much attention as other, strains. Make sure you reach and sustain the desired temperature to ensure you have a hefty yield. You will need to sustain temperatures between 68-80 degrees Fahrenheit for optimum growth. Light is key to the success of this grow. Slightly lower temperatures are okay during the night if growing outdoors. Outdoors the plants need a warm, dry climate to be successful so plan your grow and harvest accordingly. Indoors you are looking at 9-11 weeks and outdoors, middle to the end of October.
- Moisture control: During the vegetative state Chocolope seeds requires semi-humid conditions. Keep it around 60-70% in the vegetative stage. In the flowering stage, the humidity should be a bit lower, around 40-50%. To avoid mold make sure you have adequate airflow and control your watering.
- Training Techniques: Chocolope plants benefit greatly from topping and low-stress training. This strain in particular tends to stretch because of its Sativa dominant genetic makeup. You’ll want to control the plant height and promote lateral growth so that the entire plant, top to bottom, receives the desired sun or artificial light.
The Germination Game Plan
Before you even plant your female cannabis plants, you will first need to germinate these mostly indica seeds. To do so, refer to our free germination guide, knowing that they are backed by our impressive 90% germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Time and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Chocolope seeds strain has a flowering time of around 56-63 days after germination. Dialing in your “ready to harvest” time is paramount to ensure optimal size, yield, and potency. Harvesting early can greatly reduce all of these attributes while harvesting too late can do the same. You will also want to pay attention to tricomb development.
- Yields: Indoor yields are up to 600 grams per square meter, while outdoor grows typically harvest 900 grams per plant which is a lot given the flowering and harvest time. The yield and THC content are worth the time and effort with this particular strain.
Dominant Terpenes in Chocolope: Better Than a Great Cup of Coffee
Chocolope’s sweet, coffee-like taste and aroma are created by its dominant terpenes. Everything from the scent to the cerebral and body effects can be attributed to its chemical makeup. The science behind this strain is especially unique and a better understanding of the build of the plant can ensure you get the right flavor notes and scents when growing your bud.
- Caryophyllene: Not Too Spicy– Caryophyllene is recognized for its spicy and peppery scent and taste. Known for stress-reducing and relaxing qualities.
- Limonene: Zesty Citrus – Helps to enhance the uplifting feeling in Chocolope plants. This terpene is abundant in citrus rinds and can elevate mood and relieve stressors. The terpenes and cannabinoids in Chocolope work together to create what is known as an entourage effect.
- Myrcene: A Floral Template – Sometimes related to a sedative effect, the lower amount of myrcene in Chocolope kicks in later in the high making it the perfect strain to start and end your day with.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Chocolope Seeds:
Cannabinoids although in the background, play an important role in Chocolope and can be attributed to the positive effects that the strain can offer the user. That creative, energetic, and uplifted feeling is in large part due to THC and CBD. The Cannabinoids in this strain are linked to the euphoria that accompanies it. While high, the THC levels in Chocolope are balanced and won’t overwhelm the user.
- THC: The Main Character – THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of Chocolope. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 22%, the THC in the Sativa dominant strain is responsible for the uplifted feeling you get when you use it. The high THC levels in Chocolope will give you a powerful cerebral high without knocking you out.
- CBD: Lower Levels – With around 1% of the chemical compound of Chocolope being CBD the Cannabidiol in this strain won’t change your mood or the way your body feels. There will be a slight body buzz that will help decrease aches and pains in your extremities.

Flowering ran long enough that I forgot I was technically still waiting for it at some point, which is saying something since the actual care requirements stayed pretty chill the whole time, moderate feeding, no fuss. Ran this one sea-of-green style, several smaller plants instead of one big project, and it worked out great, filled in evenly with minimal supervision. Buds finished dense and hefty, glittering with trichomes, green with purple accents for visual flair. Smell was chocolate, coffee, caramel, genuinely excellent. First smoke was bright, energetic, focused, exactly the classic sativa experience advertised. Ten out of ten, would wait that long again.

Flowering took longer than planned, worth the extra patience.

Cantaloupe sweetness under the chocolate and coffee, genuinely unique.

Two plants, two personalities, one fruity, one diesel.

Training response was tested across two approaches within this grow — early topping to encourage multi-branch structure, and an untrained comparison specimen — with both producing acceptable structural outcomes, suggesting genuine flexibility in cultivation strategy. Bud formation was consistently hefty and dense rather than airy, with trichome coverage heavy enough to produce a visibly glittering finished product. Color development included green with purple accents in some specimens. Aroma consolidated into a chocolate-coffee-caramel profile, with a distinct cantaloupe-adjacent fruitiness present in some specimens and a more diesel-leaning character in others, consistent with documented phenotype variability. Reported effects included both an energizing, focused profile and a more dreamy, relaxing one, suggesting meaningful phenotype-dependent variation in experiential character.

Trichome coverage was heavy, buds genuinely sparkled by harvest.

First smoke had this dreamy, cerebral, relaxing quality rather than the typical energetic sativa buzz, genuinely one of the more interesting effect profiles I’ve experienced. Getting there was a moderate, satisfying grow with rich chocolate-coffee aroma.

Flowering took longer than I planned for, which tested my patience more than anything else about this grow. I did this one sea-of-green style with a bunch of smaller plants instead of training one big one, and it worked out great, everything filled in evenly without much fuss. Buds finished dense and hefty, green with purple hints, absolutely covered in trichomes, genuinely glittery by harvest. The smell was amazing, chocolate, coffee, and this sweet earthy thing with a caramel edge. Curing rounded it out even more. First smoke had this bright, energetic, focused feeling, exactly the classic sativa lift I was hoping for.
